The Barcelona European Golf Show, BEGS, organised by Fira de Barcelona, is holding its second edition in Montjuïc’s Hall 1 from the 27th of February to the 1st of March 2003, with over a hundred exhibitors. The event will concentrate the national and international sector’s supply and demand, promoting golf and providing information on Spanish tourist destinations associated with this sport.It is estimated that around 15.000 people, among professionals and the general public, will visit the event.

Una noche de tango

The company Tango Por Dos has conceived "Una noche de Tango" like a special show in both of the atmospheres where this dance was developed: the "Milonga" - social tango club- and an elengant european night club. Seven dance couples perform different tango times and styles: Tango; Milonga and Vals (crossed tango-waltz). Each dance team show their special characteristics: different styles, ages and personalities. The repertory that the orchestra plays goes from traditional tangos like "La Cumparsita"; "El Choclo" to international tangos: "Caminito"; "A media luz"; "Vida mia" and also various popular "milongueros" themes. Three singers show the old lost tradition of the duet and trio songs, so representative of the gold tango years.

Paul McCartney will offer a concert in Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona next 28th March. This will be his one and only show in Spain, ten years after his last visit. In his "Back in the world" tour McCartney is offering 22 Beatles songs, some of them have never been played in Barcelona. The show includes also more than 12 songs of the McCartney's songs with the Wings and from his own career in more than two hours of concert. 14th Guitar festival

Traditionarius folk festival

The Traditionarius festival was born in 1985 as a way of enjoy the traditional music and dance as people did times ago, but adapting it to our times. The main objective is try to put that music and that dances in the street, in the squares, in the bars, in the coffees… and integrate it in people’s life. The festival shows the traditional catalan music and also important international groups from all the cultures. On one hand, the celebration gives the new artists the opportunity of show their music and, on the other hand, it includes some famous artists, as Eliseo Parra, Adolfo Aosta, Eliza Carthy, Miquel Gil and Lidia Pujol. All of them will play in a lot of different stages situated in the city quartiers and streets. Apart from the concerts, the Traditionarius offer other kind of activities, exhibitions, parties and castellers, a catalan tradition show.

Richard Hamilton. Introspectiva

Although Richard Hamilton (London, 1922) is best known as the father of Pop Art, his work within this movement is just one small stage in an artistic career spanning over fifty years and in which he has worked in the most varied fields, styles and techniques, from engraving to painting, drawing and installations, objects and industrial design, and during which he has explored the boundaries between art and advertising, design and mass production.
This exhibition, organised in collaboration with the Ludwig Museum of Cologne, features drawings, paintings, objects and recreations of large installations, such as Fun House, 1956; and Lobby, 1985-87. The exhibition is structured into classical categories, just as Hamilton himself classifies his work: still lifes, portraits, interiors, exteriors, nature, religious works, etc., and includes key pieces from 1938 to 2002, such as the series Solomon R. Guggenheim, 1965-66, or Lux 50-Functioning Prototype, 1979, the combination of an amplifier designed by Hamilton himself with an object-painting.

From 18th February to 18th May the Museu Picasso of Barcelona exposes the collection "Picasso: de la caricatura a la metamorfosis de estilo".
The exhibition shows more than 400 art objects including drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, engravings and photographies, from the main important museums and private collections from all the world. Besides, it is necessary to emphasize that some of these works had not been shown in public till now. The collection shows us representative works of all the stages of the painter, from the beginnings of his artistic formation and his first cartoons up to his more advanced works and ironic paintings of expressionists portraits.

From 2nd to 4t May will takes place the Spanish F-1 Grand Prix in Circuit de Catalunya (Montmeló). The Spanish F-1 2003 Grand Prix will have the best possible grandstand offer for spectators to fully enjoy the awesome F-1 event. The Circuit de Catalunya boasts a total of fourteen grandstands, with a capacity for 67,730 spectators. All grandstands have direct view of giant TV screens, which means a global surface of more than 350m2 of screens, equal to ten TV screens. The services supplied to the spectators of the Grand Prix include the race broadcast through the megaphones and the Radio Circuit station (103.2 FM). Automobile International Fair

The 32nd edition of the event in Barcelona is presented more than ever as the authentic Automobile Fair of Spain.The Fair starts under the protection of three basic axis: confirmed presence of all the brands; organization of the maximum number of activities for visitors, and celebration of a prestigious international symposium. This three axis and the coincidence of the event with the Grand Prix of Spain of Formule 1 will turn Barcelona into the world capital of the automobile during some days. The fairground Montjuïc of Fira de Barcelona, with 250.000 sq.m of surface, will be fully occupied. It will be held from the 26th of April to the 4th of May 2003, and two days before will be reserved for the press (24th and 25th of April), although this second day will be shared with the professional visitors.

FESTIVAL GREC
This Festival is the most important cultural event in the Barcelona summer. In this edition we recommend you some productions, as "Electra" or "El mestre i la Margarita" from Bolgákov, but the most important will be the Offenbach's operetta with Dagoll Dagom, who will inaugurate the festival.
