"The location was ideal,
we felt like part of the neighborhood and not tourist. Our host was friendly
and very accommodating, available every morning to give directions and
suggestions for sites to visit. Breakfast was perfect in terms of amount
and selection, we prepared our own breakfast which gave us the flexibility
we needed. Quality was good a bit expensive compared to previous visits
but that's expected as the Euro levels off. The thing to make others aware
of is the 5 flights of stairs (not 4) since in Europe they consider the
1st floor as ground zero. It was good exercise and lot's of laughs walking
up 5 flights of
stairs with huge baggage, which by the way, our host helped carry! Thanks
for the opportunity and we'll be back in the area hopefully in Oct. 2003.."
"We enjoyed our first stay in Barcelona.The
apartment was clean,the owner friendly and courteous and happy to help
us with questions,the location was good for access to the harbour, Gothic
area and Las Ramblas and the Metro
for other parts was close at hand also.We were com-fortable in the place
and enjoyed our breakfast which was fairly basic but sufficient. We liked
having the space of the appartment and appreciated the fact it could be
divided up in the way it was, (in our guest area). It may be some people
would have found sharing with the
owner present to be uncomfortable,but not us.."
restaurants, bars, cafes etc was great. Miguel alsoprovided several brochures and travel guides on Barcelona which was very helpful.The only negative point I can think of is that we expected there to be basic food, i.e. bread, milk, eggs, fruit etc., for breakfast, which
wasn't provided. However this wasn't a huge problem as we were just above a coffee shop and could easily pop downstairs for breakfast. On the whole we feel that Casa Ample was superbly located, comfortable and excellent value for money and we would be more than happy to stay there again or recommend it to our friends.."
